As we swiftly approach the conclusion of the 2024 academic year, our schedules are filled with a multitude of end of year events; the Reception Nativity, transition visits, step-up day, Year 6 Graduation, Speech Day, Carols in the Cathedral, and the Palm House Pageant to mention a few.
It was excellent to see evidence of our SEA Dance program in Assembly last week, with 40 hip hop dancers taking the floor in Mem Hall. I also want to congratulate, again, the 78 ICAS award winners who were presented their certificates at a special ICAS ceremony last week. What I love about our School is that dancing and drama and being good at science, robotics and maths and sport are all just what we do here at St Peter’s College. We aren’t trapped into standard stereotypes. The boys, explore who they are through creative outlets as well as academic pursuits.
It was great to have students from St Peter’s Girls’ School visit us last Thursday for their Friendship Day. As a school for boys, our co-educational days are an essential element of our program. Our students will leave school to be fathers, husbands, partners, and work in world where they work alongside women, lead women, or be led by women. Thank you to the team at St Peter’s Girls’ School and to our Year 3 staff for giving the students this opportunity.
Congratulations to our Year 4 students who performed in their concert on Thursday night. It is always wonderful to see and hear the progress the students make over the course of a school year. Both staff and students can be incredibly proud of what they have achieved through the Year 4 Band Program.
I look forward to seeing you at one of the upcoming events in the coming weeks. We have so much to celebrate.
Kindest regards,
Jasmine Taylor
Deputy Headmaster Head of Junior School
