As we approach the final weeks of the 2025 academic year, there is much to celebrate and be thankful for.

Our Year 12 students have successfully navigated their final examinations and now step confidently into life beyond our classrooms and playing fields. Their dedication and perseverance have brought them to this moment, and we eagerly anticipate celebrating their achievements when results are released in mid-December.

Next week, our Years 9 to 11 students will commence their exam period. This is an important stage in their learning journey—an opportunity to refine revision strategies, strengthen exam techniques and build resilience. These skills will serve them well as they progress through their schooling. We look forward to acknowledging their efforts, and recognising those who have achieved academic excellence, at our Years 7 to 11 Speech Day on the final day of term.

On Thursday, our Houses came together for the final sporting contest of the year at our Summer Sports Day. House events are a cornerstone of connection across year levels, and it was inspiring to witness the commitment, energy and sportsmanship on display. Each of our ten Houses continues to strengthen its unique identity, evident in the spirit and participation shown throughout the day. This event also marks the first step in the race for the 2026 George Murray Shield.

Our annual Art and Technology Showcase was another wonderful opportunity for our community to gather and celebrate the exceptional creativity and talent of the boys at St Peter’s College. The innovative approach to problem-solving was evident in many of the technology exhibits, reflecting deep, insightful thinking and a commitment to excellence. Equally inspiring was the artistic expression displayed across a range of mediums—from painting and sculpture to fashion and digital art—each piece telling its own unique story. Events like this highlight the importance of fostering imagination and innovation, and we are proud of the dedication and passion our students bring to their work.

Next Monday evening is an important occasion for our School as we gather for our Annual Carol Service at St Peter’s Cathedral. As an Anglican school, events that celebrate the nativity are an important reminder of our history and heritage. More importantly, in a world that often encourages us to consume more and focus on self, this service offers a moment to pause and reflect on the hope brought into the world through the birth of Christ over 2,000 years ago.

It is a chance to view life with curiosity and consider how we can make an impact that brings light, peace and kindness to those around us—values as relevant today as they were then.

We look forward to the next two weeks as each boy strives to finish the year with focus and determination, setting a strong foundation for a positive, purposeful and productive 2026.
