Celebrating the Class of 2024
The first week of this term saw us come together as a community to celebrate the Class of 2024. The rituals that mark the end of the year are an important part of acknowledging and bringing closure to the students’ school journey.

Much has been said through the various speeches last week about what St Peter’s College has meant to the boys and their families. It is in these moments of reflection and at the end of such journeys that we truly recognise the opportunities that have been afforded to us. During the Avenue of Honour, we saw how deeply the boys appreciated the support and care they have received.

The Year 12 Chapel Service was another significant moment for the students. When you consider that they have entered the Chapel over 200 times during Year 12 alone, it highlights how important this space is in their hearts and minds. It was a privilege to be part of this meaningful occasion, and as an Anglican School, we value the importance of helping each student explore their own spirituality. It is our hope that at some stage the boys will return to this space for future celebrations.

Our Speech Day Ceremony provided yet another opportunity to celebrate the Class of 2024. Our guest speaker, Mr Simon Arkell (WDK 1983), shared a poignant message, reminding the students that the journey through life will be more of a squiggle then a straight line. No doubt this message already resonates for many of the graduating class, recognising that challenges will arise for all of us, and it is through these challenges we learn, grow and find our way. Perhaps the most important message was that of the Archbishop, The Most Reverend Geoffrey Smith, who used the Parable of the Prodigal Son. In essence it was a reminder that God’s love for each of us is unconditional, regardless of the past. And so, for each of our graduating Class of 2024, they should know they are loved and will always be welcomed back at St Peter’s College.

Student Leaders 2025
On the first day of Term 4, we celebrated the induction of our 2025 school leaders. Each of the boys took a pledge committing themselves to serve the School community in 2025. We look forward to the leadership they will provide as they build on the good work of those who have had the responsibility of leading our school over the years.

We wish our 2025 School Leaders every success as they transition into their roles and lead throughout Term 4.

World Teachers’ Day
Today is World Teachers’ Day and it provides an opportunity to thank those who help and support our students every day. Whilst we celebrate this day, we also acknowledge the contributions of every member of our community. Our operational staff are the backbone of the School, ensuring the campus is ready each day for the learning that takes place. Our teachers continue to create an inspiring environment for learning. So, to every staff member at St Peter’s College, ‘Hats off’ to you all.
