22 June 2022
Seeing the same boys who make coffee with the Barista Boys during the week kicking goals on the weekend, has made me stop and reflect on how wonderful it is for our students to have multiple and varied interests. There are boys who attend Pottery Club who are also involved in Choir rehearsals, there is a group of Year 2 boys who have set up their own comic writing club and a group of Year 6 students who are on the verge of launching SPN, a student driven news service. This is evidence of the broad range of opportunities made available to and created by our students.
Boys in our Junior School are at the beginning of a journey where their interests may change, and their passions evolve. As parents and educators, it is important to support our children as they explore a gamut of extracurricular activities, and in doing so give them a chance to discover strengths they may not find otherwise. I congratulate our students for their involvement and thank parents for enabling their son’s participation in such an array of activities.
