On the Ovals
We had stunning weather for the Junior Primary Sports Day, held on Palm House Oval last Wednesday. It was great to see some of our youngest students participating in their very first sporting event. Not only did it give our parent community an opportunity to come together and support their sons, but an opportunity for the boys to share the skills that they have been developing during Physical Education lessons over the year. We are very grateful that we were able to proceed with our Years 3 to 6 Athletics Carnival last Friday. The boys were involved in events such as high jump, tug-of-war, egg and spoon, sprints, relays, discus and more. A special thank you to the Junior School Friends of Saints who provided lemonade icy poles for all of the boys at both events and prepared and cooked a sausage sizzle for the Years 3 to 6 boys and staff on the Friday.

The Sound of Music
On Wednesday 28 October we saw our Year 3 boys perform in an evening concert showcasing the progress they have made in Music over the year. The audience enjoyed performances from each of the Year 3 classes, the Junior String Orchestra and a combined string item which saw the whole year level on stage playing violins, violas, cellos and double bases. The concert was an exceptional demonstration of collaboration and dedication of students, staff and parents.

The sound of music has been resonating across our school as Junior School Chamber Recitals have been taking place over the past weeks. Students learning an instrument outside of whole class music have been performing in the Big School Room, Shinkfield Music Room, Junior School Function Space, Higgins Hall and the Junior School Hall. Over 300 students have demonstrated their musical prowess in playing their instrument in front of a small audience. Working towards these recitals gives students experience in working towards goals and experiencing a sense of pride and achievement when they are able to perform in front of others.

No Hat No Play from 1 September
In line with our SunSmart policy, we require students to wear a St Peter’s College sun hat during outdoor playtimes starting on Tuesday 1 September.

Playgrounds After School
Can I please remind parents to refrain from letting their sons use the playgrounds after the school day. These areas are not supervised by our staff out of school hours.

Car Park Drop off and Pick Up: Arrangements to continue
Thank you for continuing to help us promote physical distancing during drop off and pick up. Please continue to follow the procedures previously outlined.

Please remember to follow the 10km/h speed limit when driving in the Junior School. When using the Sports Centre / Uniform Carpark, please refrain from blocking the turning area.
