As one of Adelaide’s 12 Anglican schools, last week we participated in the annual Combined Anglican Schools’ Service. This event was held at St Peter’s Cathedral and involved over 200 students from across our city. We were represented by a group of 20 Year 7 students. They spent time reflecting with other students on the faith connections between their schools. The day culminated with a combined worship, led by our Chaplain Fr Theo, who also has the role of Senior Chaplain for Anglican Schools here in Adelaide. Thank you to Fr Theo for his organisation of the day and to all the staff who contributed to the activities.
Over recent years the connection between our Anglican schools has continued to grow. This year we are delighted to be hosting the Anglican Schools Student Leadership Workshop on 22 August. This event has been hosted by Walford in recent years who have done an exceptional job as hosts. On this day student representatives from each of the Anglican schools will come together with the objective of developing their leadership capacity and returning to their schools to action their learnings around the day’s theme. This year we will be joined by John Hendry OAM, who will be leading the workshops around the theme of forgiveness. We very much look forward to welcoming our Anglican school counterparts and exploring how forgiveness can play a central role in resolving conflict and allowing relationships to move forward through difficulties.
