As the penultimate edition of the newsletter for 2019, I wanted to take this opportunity to acknowledge the contributions of our staff, particularly those who are leaving the School at the end of the year. Three senior staff are leaving to take up new roles as Principal – a genuine testament to their professionalism and dedication to the students in their care while also being a resounding endorsement of the esteem in which St Peter’s College is held by the wider education community.
After 21 years at St Peter’s College, David Kolpak, Head of Junior Years – Wellbeing and Administration, will take up the position of Principal, Trinity College North. He is a leading figure in wellbeing and positive psychology and is currently delivering and embedding visible wellbeing in the Junior School.
James Tamblyn, Deputy Headmaster/Head of Senior School, was the inaugural Head of Middle Years and oversaw the relocation of Year 7 from the Junior School into the Senior School as well as the redevelopment of the Pentreath Building. He will take up the role of Principal of Pedare Christian College from 2020.
Sam Cheesman, Director of Studies, has been appointed Principal of Tyndale Christian School, Strathalbyn campus, an enormous coup for a growing school. He has been playing an important role in the curriculum innovations St Peter’s College is working towards and has been integral in furthering the development of learning analytics.
Every staff member at St Peter’s College works hard to create an exceptional community of learning which enables students to flourish. To all teachers – thank you for your dedication, passion and commitment to students. For those staff members who are taking up new opportunities or retiring – I wish you the very best in your future endeavours and know that you always have a place here at the School. I know our parents – our partners in the journey of educating and caring for our boys and young men – will join me in thanking you.
