It is wonderful to have our students back on campus following the commencement of the School year. It has been a staggered start to the year for some families and this week we have been gradually welcoming back students who have observed a quarantine period due to their international travel during January. This gradual return continues for another week. I thank these families for their open disclosure and cooperation while we prioritised the health of every member of our community. Staff have been working very hard behind the scenes to ensure that students are supported. In particular I thank our Mrs Taylor, Mr Blackburn, Mr Pearson and Mr Baker for their assistance in communicating directly with families and facilitating contingencies.
We have commissioned the Junior School Captains as well as the School Captains. These ceremonies are an essential way to remind all members of our community of our heritage, values and the role of leadership within St Peter’s College. Our Anglican framework underpins all that we undertake and informs our values of Truth, Respect and Service.
As an academic school it is vital that we ensure all our students strive for excellence. In our partnership between home and school it is important that our students sense and feel our unified alignment, high expectations and consistency. Please contact the School at any time should you require any support or have a query regarding the School’s expectations or provisions.
In student news: congratulations to Shiva Mukherjee (Year 11) who has been selected for the 2020 South Australian Schools’ State Debating Squad.
I look forward to seeing many parents at the upcoming community functions and encourage families to make contact with my office throughout the year.
