Next week we farewell Ben Hanisch, Deputy Headmaster/Head of Senior School. Ben has served St Peter’s College with great care and diligence over the last three years. His decision making has always been empathetic and focused on the future needs of our students. Under his leadership, music, boarding, Indigenous education and our international programs have taken important leaps forward. Most particularly, the professional approach to pastoral care across the Senior School has lifted enormously. I remain particularly thankful for his leadership as Acting Headmaster in 2017. We wish Ben every success in his new position at Melbourne Grammar School.

It has been wonderful to welcome home our Year 10 students from their Pushing the Boundaries 21-day expedition in the Flinders Ranges. The feedback from students regarding their appreciation of our world’s natural beauty and living tech free has been encouraging. With some students experiencing a solo camp for up to 36 hours the positive impact of reflection has been obvious. I know you will join me in thanking our academic, pastoral and outdoor education staff who have assisted in making the journey such a success.

Next week will be action packed with the Junior School Bastille Day celebrations, Years 5 and 6 Concert and the Junior School Winter House games. I hope many parents will be able to join us on campus to see the boys in action.

This is the final newsletter for Term 2 and I hope everyone has a restful break. I look forward to welcoming you all back at School on 23 July for Term 3.
