As one door closes, another door opens for Rushan and me. Our journey here at St Peter’s College is finally over and we have nothing left to do but reflect on the wild ride we have had through these walls and fields. Rushan and I are extremely thankful for the opportunity we have been granted this year for we have learnt so much about ourselves and each other, through plenty of learning experiences we are grateful for and will remember for the rest of our lives.

This year has not been easy for us, stepping into totally new roles and taking a giant leap out of our comfort zones. Now as we find ourselves just getting comfortable, we are preparing to hand over the baton to the new captains who I am sure will hit the ground running.

The last two years have been very challenging for everyone, and I am very grateful for what we as captains have been able to achieve this year when others around Australia and the world have not been so fortunate. We have been able to fundraise much needed money and resources for the McGrath Foundation, Beyond Blue, Wontulp-Bi-Buya College, and the Magdalene Centre just to name a few. We have also been able to host and attend events such as the 10th National Student Leadership Summit, Rex J Lipman Lecture with the 2021 Australian of The Year Ms Grace Tame, summer and winter Intercols, Blue Week, our very own Blue & White, and we are now enjoying week long celebrations for our graduating class of 2021 at which our parents can attend. How lucky are we!

This year would not have been the same without the help of the amazing staff here at St Peter’s College. I would like to begin with thanking, Headmaster, Mr Browning and Deputy Headmaster, Mr Blackburn, for your outstanding leadership, guidance and care. You have both been there and supported Rushan and me right the way through this year. I would also like to acknowledge the teaching and pastoral care staff as well as the staff in Junior School, Marketing, Business, Events, Administration, Grounds and Maintenance. Our School Councillors, Chaplains, Outdoor ED Department, Coaches, our School Nurses, Kate, Glenda and Ness, Chartwells, and the team at Keystone. You are all integral links in the chain and without you St Peter’s College would not be the same. Rushan and I can’t thank you enough for your help during our time as School Captains.

Thank you to everyone for their support this year and I wish the best of luck to our Year 12 students as they study for their final exams!
