Junior School Activities Spotlight
Over the last two weeks, we have had the privilege to participate in a couple of unique activities with our Junior School students.
On Friday 17 June, the Junior School participated in their annual Anglican Charities Day, organised by our Year 6 boys. The day was full of fun activities and games with gold coin entry prices. Games of particular note and enjoyment for us were the table tennis, basketball and dart-throwing competitions, that all collectively raised thousands of dollars for Anglicare SA. It was fantastic to see the entrepreneurship and initiative of our Year 6 boys, as well as the enjoyment of all boys who took part in these fun activities.
On Tuesday this week, we had the opportunity to stop by our Reception to Year 2 boys in their celebration of French culture on Bastille Day in our DacCosta Dining Hall. We saw boys receive prizes for their French Show and Tell, and a prize for the closest guess of the number of Eifel Towers in Madame McLachlan’s French Room (a whopping 139 of them we found out!) One of our Year 3 boys, Kaeshav, gave a beautiful rendition of “The French Song” to the audience at this event, which was very impressive to watch. We hope our boys enjoyed this celebration – the hot chocolate and croissants looked delicious!
As this is our last entry for the term, we would like to wish our Year 12 students all the best in their holiday preparation for trial exams. You are approaching the last leg of the race, and this is the time to get stuff done. Make the most of this mid-year “holiday” to make your term three work life easier to manage. We also wish all families a safe and relaxing mid-year holiday, and we look forward to seeing you all again in Term 3, which promises to be a busy term with lots of events and activities to get involved in!
