For the second year, the German Society organised a German cake stall at the annual Languages Soccer Cup. We sold sugar-coated berliners and authentic German pretzels from a German baker. Although additional cakes were ordered to sell this year, we could not keep up with the demand from students, who kept lining up for more. Despite some students missing out, it was a huge success.
Complete with a German flag and advertising flyers, the whole process ran very smoothly, with a number of German students in addition to a few other volunteers assisting with setting up, serving and clean-up.
Thank you to all helpers, in particular the new German Society members. Special thanks to George Karassoulos (Year 12), who took the lead in organising the event.
