Congratulations to Glyn Roberts, Head of English, who has published his second children’s book this week. Prince Porrig and the Peculiar Pet is his second book in the Prince Porrig series. His first book Prince Porrig and the Calamitous Carbuncle was published in 2017 reaching the top 20% of children’s books sold that year.
The second book follows the adventure of Prince Porrig who meets a half-cat half-dragon creature and has to deal with horrible old relative who enjoys bullying everyone else.
The books are perfect funny bed-time stories for under 8s, and with a complex vocabulary to help expand a child’s reading ability, they’ll also help with their future reading. The illustrations are by Glyn’s childhood friend David Smith, and the two of them work together between the UK and Australia to produce these fabulous fun stories. Both books have entertaining twists that’ll keep the adults happy too.
