On Tuesday 9 March, the best performing 2020 International Baccalaureate (IB) students from each school in the state were presented the inaugural South Australian Governor’s Awards.
James Psaltis (HWD 2020) and Thomas Gaertner (DAC 2020) who both received 44 out of a possible 45 (ATAR 99.75) were joint recipients of the Award.
Governor Hieu Van Le was particularly impressed that the IB programme has a focus on intercultural respect. ‘As a proud advocate for cultural diversity in our state and our nation, I am pleased to see that the IB considers these skills as essential for young citizens of the 21st century,’ Governor Hieu Van Le said at the award ceremony.
