Reception to Year 2 Sports Day
It was wonderful to see so many parents, grandparents and friends on the sidelines of the Reception to Year 2 Sports Day last Friday. Competing in a range of individual and group pursuits, the boys enjoyed participating and were proud to be wearing their House t-shirts at the event. There has been a significant change in the way our Junior Primary boys identify with their House over the course of this year which has been encouraging to see. The Year 5 students demonstrated exceptional leadership by guiding and supporting students at each of the stations and are to be commended for their contribution to the success of the event, along with Mr Cosgrove for the organisation of the day.
Thank you to the Junior School Friends of Saints for providing the boys with an ice lolly treat at the end of the event. The boys (and some Lucy Little siblings, mums and granddads) thought it was a perfect way to end the event.
Year 3 Concert
The Year 3 students did not disappoint the audience who gathered in Memorial Hall last Wednesday night. It isn’t often that you see over 70 Year 3 boys take to the stage with a stringed instrument. In the finale, violins, violas, cellos and double bases played by students from all of our four Year 3 classes showcased the product of persistence, practice and teamwork. Well done to Mrs Sharon Morely, Strings Coordinator, and the whole music team for another outstanding music event.
Outdoor Education
We welcomed our Year 6 students back from their Kangaroo Island adventure last Friday. They had a unforgettable journey with the Remarkable Rocks, the noisy koalas in the night and the sighting of seals being among the highlights for the boys. I am so grateful to the staff who supported and led the Kangaroo Island camp. I extend this gratitude to all of our staff who have spent time away from their own families over the course of the year to provide memorable outdoor learning experiences for our students in Years 3 to 6. In advance, I thank the team who will be sleeping in Palm House tonight for the Year 2 Sleepover tonight.

In the week of the UN Climate Change Conference, it is worth thinking about the small things that we can do to preserve our planet. I thank the member of our parent community who suggested that parents refrain from leaving their cars idling when waiting for their sons at the end of the school day. Although this is a little thing, we have to hope that every action counts towards long term sustainability.
Please remember that my door is always open and that I always welcome your feedback and questions.
Have a wonderful weekend.
