Friday 30 May was the St Peter’s College House Swimiming Carnival, the culmination of a month long program of swimming trials, heats and the day itself. During the trials period, 2985 individual trials were registered with more than 900 boys trialling. With our less confident swimmer’s having the opportunity to trial using swimming aids and earning valuable House points.
The day itself was a great success with excellent participation across our swimming and novelty events. Da Costa House was victorious in the Junior House Cup while Woodcock House showed their swimming ability winning the Senior House Cup and emerging as the Senior School Swimming Carnival winning House.
A special mention to our age group champions:
U13: Runner up – Sam Hobart, Winner – Henry Chen
U14: Runner up – Jack Lai, Winner – Tom Wallett
U15: Runners up – Cowen Suyapto & Henry Lehman, Winner – James Teo
U16: Runner up – Alden Au, Winner – Max Hewitt

Congratulations to our Captain of Swimming, Dan Whittaker, who also won the Wells Cup for Open Champion.
It was a record-breaking day in the pool, with five records broken overall.
A standout performance from Max Hewitt saw him break three records – U16 Individual Medley, U16 Freestyle and U16 Breaststroke. Farr House’s U15 age group also had an outstanding day, breaking the U15 6 x 50m Freestyle Relay record and the U15 Medley Relay.
Finally, a big thank you to all staff – across teaching and operations – who worked together to deliver this important event in the school calendar.
