Last Friday we had the pleasure of presenting High Distinction Certificates and Medals for some of the students who participated in ICAS competitions last term. ICAS competitions were held for Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Digital Technologies, Spelling Bee and Science. ICAS recognises academic performance with engaging, fun questions designed by psychometricians, education measurement experts and experienced teachers to test students’ higher-order thinking skills. Students were given the opportunity to opt in and participate if they wanted to.

A High Distinction in ICAS is awarded to students who are in the top 1% of participants in each subject. ICAS Medals are awarded to students who achieved the best results in their year level within all of South Australia.

In addition to our High Distinction winners, we have 51 different students have achieved over 85 Distinction Awards in ICAS this year. These students will be acknowledged at a special occasion in Week 7. On top of these awards, we also have Credits, Merits and Participations awards which will be celebrated in classes too. Thank you to the 150 different students who participated in ICAS this year.
