At SPSC, we seek students in the Junior School who aspire to leadership roles as captains of specialty areas such as Sport, Music, Languages, Robotics, Library, Art and Drama and who consistently demonstrate our core values of truth, respect and service in their daily actions.
These students show integrity, act with honesty, and take responsibility for their choices, while treating others with kindness, inclusivity and respect. We look for boys who have developed strong character strengths, such as perseverance, teamwork, initiative and empathy and who use these qualities to positively influence and support their peers.
Effective student leaders are those who lead by example, contribute enthusiastically to their chosen speciality area and show a genuine commitment to serving the School community.

This week’s spotlight is on Rory Nugent our Drama Captain.
Why did you apply for this position?
Drama is fun. Leadership is fun. Being a leader is a great way to serve the community.
Can you tell us a fun fact about yourself?
I play hockey and I have three siblings. I once walked into a lake because I thought the algae was grass.
What is the one thing you would like to achieve in your role as Drama Captain?
Be able to put together an amazing assembly piece and work with younger levels to help grow Drama skills in the Junior School.
Anything extra you would like to add?
My top three favourite actors are Tom Cruise because ‘Top Gun’ is my favourite movie, and Adam Sandler and Rowan Atkinson because they are great comic actors.
My favourite Drama moment was being up on stage as a leader. In lessons I love to play a funny background character. You get to sneak in the funniness without taking away from the main story.
