Beneath clear late-autumn skies, the SPSC Junior School community came together on Girdlestone Oval for the eagerly awaited annual House Cross Country. Spirits were high as boys from Prep through to Year 6 lined up to compete, proudly representing their Houses and embracing the challenge ahead.
The course wound its way through the picturesque Junior School grounds, offering both beauty and difficulty. Senior students extended their run beyond the oval, taking on the inclines of the Secret Garden along with the open stretches of Palm House, the Avenues and Girdlestone Oval.
Races for Years 3 to 6 began with energy and determination, as older runners tackled a testing 3km distance. The morning was marked by perseverance, plenty of encouragement and a healthy sense of competition as participants chased important House points.
