At SPSC, we seek students in the Junior School who aspire to leadership roles as captains of specialty areas such as Sport, Music, Languages, Robotics, Library, Art and Drama and who consistently demonstrate our core values of truth, respect and service in their daily actions.
These students show integrity, act with honesty, and take responsibility for their choices, while treating others with kindness, inclusivity and respect. We look for boys who have developed strong character strengths, such as perseverance, teamwork, initiative and empathy and who use these qualities to positively influence and support their peers.
Effective student leaders are those who lead by example, contribute enthusiastically to their chosen speciality area and show a genuine commitment to serving the School community.

This week’s spotlight is on Angus Freney our Sports Captain
Why did you apply for this position?
I applied for this position because I am passionate about sport, and I wanted to be able to lead and support my friends when we play for the school.
Can you tell us a fun fact about yourself?
I love chocolate and lollies. My parents can hide chocolate and lollies anywhere, and I will still find them. My shoes, though? They are experts at hide-and-seek.
What is one thing you would like to achieve in your role as leader?
As Sports Captain I would like to lead by example and help younger kids be good at sport and be a good leader. One thing I would absolutely love to achieve is winning the Year 6 Footy Intercol!
Anything extra you would like to add?
I love all sports especially Footy, Cricket, Basketball, and Cross-country.
My Favourite footballer is Connor Rozee because he is awesome and I go for Port.
My favourite movie is Scary Movie because Marlon Wayans known as Shorty is funny.
