At SPSC, we seek students in the Junior School who aspire to leadership roles as captains of specialty areas such as Sport, Music, Languages, Robotics, Library, Art and Drama and who consistently demonstrate our core values of truth, respect and service in their daily actions.

These students show integrity, act with honesty, and take responsibility for their choices, while treating others with kindness, inclusivity and respect. We look for boys who have developed strong character strengths, such as perseverance, teamwork, initiative and empathy and who use these qualities to positively influence and support their peers.

Effective student leaders are those who lead by example, contribute enthusiastically to their chosen speciality area and show a genuine commitment to serving the School community.

This week’s spotlight is on Huey Williams our Music Captain.

Why did you apply for this position?
The reason I applied for Music Captain was because I wanted to help encourage everyone to play and enjoy music. Music is really important to me and I wanted to share that with everyone.

Can you tell us a fun fact about yourself?
A fun fact about me is I play bass guitar right-handed, but I play air guitar left-handed

What is one thing you would like to achieve in your role as music leader?
I want to be kind and supportive to everyone, from boys just starting music to more experienced musicians. I want to be considerate to everyone and be a friendly face in the yard.

Anything extra you would like to add?
The Year 5/6 concert is a must-see event! Don’t miss it!
