Movie Night and Fun Fair 2026, what a night! On Saturday evening the Junior School Friends of Saints hosted this much-loved annual event. The uncertain forecast which changed daily provided some challenges for what would usually be an outdoor event. However, as our esteemed caretaker, Jason said during the week, “At Saints we make it happen!” And make it happen we did. We are so fortunate to have both the space and support from our wonderful staff to move indoors which turned out to be a wonderful surprise. Having everyone together under one roof created an energetic, connected atmosphere that truly captured the spirit of our vibrant Junior School community.
The Burchnall Sports Centre was buzzing. Families gathered, children played, and parents enjoyed the chance to connect and chat. The experience felt even more special with new amusements, the novelty of running in the rain and sharing laughs, picnics and popcorn before watching the movie together. This unique sense of togetherness is what makes these events so memorable. Sometimes, a change of plans brings unexpected benefits – this was certainly one of those occasions.
Events like this remind us that community and connection to each other; and to our School, is at the heart of life at St Peter’s College. Whether outdoors under the stars or indoors, what truly matters is the opportunity to connect, build relationships, and create lasting memories together. Thank you for embracing the changes and supporting us regardless of the uncertainty.
While our main focus is always to provide opportunities for families to connect, we are extremely proud to have also raised funds while doing so. Thanks to the hard work of our volunteers and the support of our families we are thrilled to be able to donate an additional $20,000 to The Foundation’s playground appeal. A heartfelt thank you to our incredible JSFoS committee, other parent volunteers, senior school student volunteers and school staff who helped us pivot seamlessly to deliver such a successful night. We are so grateful for your flexibility, energy, and dedication which make our school such a warm, inclusive, and connected place to be.
We’re looking forward to next year already! In the meantime, please save the date for our mid-year event, Quiz Night which will be held on Saturday 13 June.
