We are thrilled to share that our Junior School students delivered an exceptional performance at the Chinese National Day Reception on Tuesday 1October 2024. The event, co-hosted by the South Australian Government and the Chinese Consulate in Adelaide, was held at the Adelaide Convention Centre and celebrated the cultural ties between South Australia and China. Our students were specially invited to perform at this prestigious occasion.

Our students’ invitation to this event comes as a result of their impressive performance during Premier Li’s visit to Adelaide earlier this year. Their dedication and talent made a lasting impression, leading to this special invitation from the state government and the Chinese Consulate. Notably, Mrs Jasmine Taylor and I were also invited to attend as guests, reflecting the efforts of our talented Years 4 to 6 students, who made the June event so memorable. At the reception, our boys performed two beautiful songs, the Panda Song and China in the Lights, captivating the audience with their impressive talent and fluent Chinese. Their hard work and dedication were evident, and their performance received glowing praise from the Chinese Consul-General in Adelaide, Mr Li Dong, who commended the students on their excellent Chinese.

South Australia’s Premier, Peter Malinauskas, also expressed his gratitude for the students’ contribution, acknowledging how their performance strengthened the bond between South Australia and China. He also thanked the parents and school leadership for their unwavering support in making the performance a success. The boys performed in their winter uniforms, and their professionalism and confidence were apparent throughout the evening. This event was a significant opportunity for them to showcase their skills on a prominent platform, and they truly rose to the occasion. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the parents for their support, both in the lead-up to and during the event, and to the School community for encouraging the boys as they prepared for this important day.

Please join us in congratulating the students on a job well done and in celebrating their role in fostering positive relations between South Australia and China.
