The final event on the inter-school Cross Country calendar, the State Relay Championships, was held recently. This Junior School had five teams of four competing. In the relay each boy is required to run 2km before passing on the sash to the next runner. The teams were created by the boys. The afternoon itself was sunny and cool, just perfect for running. Our teams competed strongly and with great support by parents and fellow team members put in maximum effort to finish first, third, fourth, seventh and eighth. Among the ten participating teams our fastest team completed the 8km in 31 minutes and 33 seconds – an amazing result, given that half the team were in Year 5.

Congratulations to all students involved who ran exceptionally well. Please see their times below:

Max Mitchell (Year 6), 7:56
Oliver Maung (Year 5), 9:15
Jack Hollington (Year 5), 7:56
Thomas Grosser (Year 7), 7:26 who took out first place overall.

In third place was Louis von Doussa (Year 5) 8:28, Gustaw Czechowicz (Year 5) 8:31, Lockie McKenna (Year 5) 8:19 and Jack Grosser (Year 5) 8:40.

Congratulations to all the boys who competed and Ms Maryanne Moore and I look forward to seeing them running again in 2020.
