The Annual Junior School Swimmng Carnival took place at the Burchnall Sports Centre pool on Monday 4 March with all boys from Years 3 to 6 given the opportunity to participate in the traditional swim stroke events of freestyle, backstroke, breastroke and butterfly. The event was a spectacle with standing room only for the proud parents filling the grandstand.
All participants swum their hearts out in age group events to gain points for their respective Houses. There were many finger tip finishes and also boys giving everything they had to ensure they finished their races with pride.
Congratulations to Clayton Dyer House (566 points) whose swimmers picked up the most points for finishing their event or for finishing in the top 3 places. Alliston Jones House came second (488 points), Stokes Ware House came third (338 points) and Brooks House took out fourth (287 points).
In the 2012 age group Sam Hobart picked up a staggering 49 points for Stokes Ware House consistently finishing in the top three races in freestyle, backstroke and butterfly. Sam was closely followed by Archer Kline (39 points) and Poli Guo (35 points)
In the 2013 age group Jayden Zhang and Lohan Wang were the most consistent performers with 49 and 46 points respectively with Hugo Junin coming in third (34 points).
In the 2014 age Harold Dai (42) picked up extra points swimming in more events to pip James Knights (39) and Albert Lee (35)
