Two Year 8 students represented the School at Legacy’s Junior Public Speaking Awards on Saturday of Week 8 after an impressive round of internal heats. Thank you to all participants and congratulations to our representatives, Advaith Abilash and Andrew Ung.

The Legacy Junior Public Speaking Award is a national competition which seeks to contribute to the personal development of 12–14-year-olds by encouraging the best use of spoken English. The aim of the event is to enhance students’ oral communication skills and to help students appreciate the ideals of Legacy, which are – voluntary service, social justice, caring, personal sacrifice and mateship.

Congratulations to both students on their impressive speeches examining the need for remembrance and compulsory service respectively. Similarly, both Advaith and Andrew responded to their impromptu topic successfully after only five minutes of preparation time.

Great work boys!
