Year 9 student, Andrew Ung, represented the School at Legacy’s Junior Public Speaking Award on Saturday of Week 7.
The Legacy Junior Public Speaking Award is a competition which seeks to contribute to the personal development of 12–14-year-olds by encouraging their best use of spoken English. The aim of the event is to enhance students’ oral communication skills and to help students appreciate the ideals of Legacy, which are – voluntary service, social justice, caring, personal sacrifice and mateship.
Congratulations to Andrew who presented an impressive prepared speech on personal sacrifice. He also responded to the prompt “what’s the most important lesson you have learnt”, presenting a two-minute speech with only five-minutes of preparation time.
Great work Andrew!
