Last term, three Senior School students were invited to sit the prestigious Australian Mathematical Olympiad (AMO) Summer Exam. The Australian Mathematics Trust only extends invitations to students who have demonstrated exceptional performance in previous competitions, placing them among the most talented mathematics students in the country. Participation numbers are limited to just a few hundred nationwide.
All three of our students performed exceptionally well.
Tao Wong (10HWD) achieved a Gold Award with an outstanding score of 41/42, placing him in the top 20 students in Australia.
Mason Qian (11HWD) earned a Silver Award, finishing in the top 50 nationally.
In his first high-performance Olympiad experience, Tyler Gao (10MAC) achieved a Participation Award, impressively earning marks across most questions.
We congratulate these students on their remarkable achievements and their dedication to the mathematics program at St Peter’s College.
