The Mid-Autumn Festival gathering between St Peter’s College and Seymour College, held at Seymour College, left a very deep impression on me. The event was centred around the Mid-Autumn Festival and gave students from both schools the opportunity to celebrate this traditional festival together, participate in a variety of fun games and activities, and make new friends.
On the day of the event, we were divided into different table groups. Each group had to participate in various games and activities to earn points, and the group with the highest score at the end would win. This team-based scoring system made the whole event exciting and competitive, while also encouraging everyone to participate actively and work together.
One of the games that I enjoyed the most was Simon Says. We had to listen carefully to the instructions and quickly perform the correct actions. Sometimes, people were eliminated because they misunderstood the instructions, which created lots of laughter. We also took part in many other fun activities, and each one required the team members to cooperate with one another. These activities not only tested our reactions but also strengthened our teamwork.
There were also some wonderful musical performances during the event. Rainy Fang, Carbon Li and Zi Yi Zhao performed for everyone. Rainy and Zi Yi both sang while playing the instruments. Rainy played the piano and Zi Yi played the guitar, Carbon played the trombone. The combination of different instruments and singing made the atmosphere even more lively and added a special feeling to the Mid-Autumn Festival celebration.
A Kahoot game had originally been planned, but unfortunately, it could not be run successfully at the venue. Instead, we spontaneously changed the activity to singing and dancing. We danced to Pitbull’s “Timber”, and everyone sang and danced along with the music. The atmosphere was extremely energetic and exciting. Although this was different from the original plan, it actually became one of the most enjoyable parts of the event and helped everyone relax and have fun.
At the end of the event, we also received tickets for a lucky draw. Everyone was hoping that they would win a great prize, and the whole lucky draw was filled with excitement and anticipation. It was a fun way to bring the Mid-Autumn Festival gathering to an end.
I really enjoyed this event because it not only allowed us to experience the joyful and welcoming atmosphere of the Mid-Autumn Festival, but also gave us an opportunity to communicate with students from Seymour College and get to know each other. Through the team games, musical performances, singing, dancing and lucky draw, everyone had a relaxing and unforgettable evening.
Overall, the Mid-Autumn Festival gathering between St Peter’s College and Seymour College was a very meaningful experience. The variety of team activities, Simon Says, musical performances, and the spontaneous singing and dancing to “Timber” made the evening full of laughter and surprises. This experience not only helped me understand more about the cultural significance of the Mid-Autumn Festival, but also allowed me to make new friends and create wonderful memories. I hope that the two schools can organise more exchange activities like this in the future.
