On Thursday 8 November we welcomed Year 8 students from St Peter’s Girls’ and Walford for the Year 8 Co-educational Day. Hosted here at Saints and facilitated by teachers from all three schools, the students rotated through a series of activities designed to foster new relationships and consider some contemporary issues that our young people face as they navigate early adolescence. A number of activities were designed to explore ways of developing and maintaining healthy relationships. The students are to be commended for the sensitive and mature way they approached these opportunities. Thanks to all our Year 8 staff who were excellent hosts and designed a very engaging program for all the students involved. Thank you also to the staff from St Peter’s Girls’ and Walford for their significant input into the day.
Middle Years Parent Information Evening
The Middle Years Parent Information Evening, for parents new to the Middle Years in 2019, will take place in Memorial Hall from 7pm on Wednesday 28 November. This will provide an opportunity for parents to meet some key staff from the Middle Years team, hear a little about the unique system of pastoral care in the Middle Years, collect information about opportunities for the students next year, and discuss some logistics about life in the Senior School to prepare for the beginning of next year. We very much look forward to welcoming our new Middle Years parents on this evening.
Step Up Day
Step Up Day, for all boys commencing in the Middle Years next year, takes place on Friday 30 November. Students are asked to report to Memorial Hall at 8.30am, wearing the PE uniform of their current school. Boys will be placed into their 2019 mentor class, and spend the day with their mentor teacher. We have a great day of activities planned, designed to support the boys to meet new friends and become a little more familiar with the Senior School and some of our teachers. We very much look forward to welcoming the students.
