Mission Guild had a very busy end to Term 3. We participated in the World Vision Food risk lunch with 50 Year 8 boys, which raised funds for the 40 Hour Famine. We also provided goodie bags for the 20 families that were involved in the Sony Camp during the school holidays. Many individuals and business contributed items to these bags and this was organised by the very resourceful Mission Guild volunteers.
The Mission Guild also hosted a movie night at the Regal Cinema selling 130 tickets to see the film Downtown Abbey. The event was a fantastic and raised $3000.
Every year Mission Guild donates money to various charities and has recently given the following;
Star Bear – $7000
St Johns Youth – $6000
Elizabeth Mission – $6000
Magdalene Centre – $6000
Christies Beach EAP – $6000
There are also a number of Term 4 events that Mission Guild will be involved with. Mission Guild volunteers will be helping students with service learning on 19 October supervising their cooking and serving food to the homeless at the Magdalene Centre in the city. We are also helping with Christmas and packing boxes for the Christmas Hamper Appeal. To do this we need donations of nice show box sized boxes for the used Uniform Shop.

Term 3 also saw another Pop Up stall at the Junior School which raised $693.00. We will be doing another two pop up stalls this term. One on Friday 29 November between 3.00pm – 4.30pm as part of Step Up Day. The second will be held on Thursday 5 December from 2.30pm – 4.15pm. Look for the Mission Guild flags.
