ELC and Reception Boys (and their teachers!) immersed themselves in a range of activities involving exploration of mud where they could get their hands dirty and express themselves through connecting with nature.

Uncle John commenced Mud Day by engaging the boys in cultural perspectives and our connection with the land. The event played an integral role in fostering 21st Century learning skills such as collaboration, creativity,  communication and resilience.

Boys were provided with the opportunity to explore various concepts linked to their learning in the classroom such as creating recipes in the mud kitchen and mixing potions, making Wombat Stew, digging for dirty dinosaurs and experimenting with a variety of different shaped objects to explore the ways things move and make tracks.

We also thank special guests from Soil Science Australia for facilitating seed planting and clay modelling at Mud Day.
