Following the announcement by David Hine of his intention to retire at the end of 2018, I write to update you regarding the recruitment of the Head of Junior School. The recruitment process attracted a strong field of candidates with exemplary experience from across Australia and internationally.

I am pleased to announce that the new Head of Junior School will be Mrs Jasmine Taylor.

Mrs Taylor is currently the Head of early Years at Raha International School, Abu Dhabi, where she leads 480 students and 25 classroom teachers. She is an energetic educator with a demonstrated record of school improvement. Mrs Taylor has an excellent understanding of current educational research and practice and is a passionate advocate for the use of data to inform pedagogy. She is an expert teacher who shares a passion for young children and building positive relationships with all stakeholders. Mrs Taylor’s experience includes educational leadership, curriculum development, admissions and marketing in both the United Kingdom and UAE. During the recruitment process a visit was undertaken to observe Mrs Taylor at work at her current school and I witnessed firsthand the strong rapport she has established in a very complex educational environment.

South Australia is very familiar to Mrs Taylor; she grew up and was educated in Adelaide. She is looking forward to returning to live in Adelaide with her husband and two young children.

Mrs Taylor will commence her role as Head of Junior School from the beginning of Term 2, 2019. As a result, Mr David Kolpak will step into the role of Acting Head of Junior Schoolfor Term 1, 2019.

Please join me in welcoming Mrs Taylor to St Peter’s College.

Yours sincerely,

Tim Browning
Headmaster
