The new elective subject of sports analytics and coaching has been an extremely enjoyable subject. Taking statistics on my favourite sports has not only been fun but has also given me insight into the world of data in sport. This term we have been given the opportunity to film games and use code to record and analyse data on our favourite sports which has ultimately led to an employment role for both Jamie and me in filming AFL for a company called Sports Interactive.
I strongly suggest any student who has even a slight interest in sport or data to select this subject as it is not only extremely enjoyable, but also gives you essential skills that can lead to real-life employment.
