All parents are warmly invited to a parent information evening with John Hendry OAM, a leading expert in positive education and healthy relationships.

Date: Monday 24 June 2019
Time: 7.00 – 8.30pm
Location: Memorial Hall

John has taught in secondary schools for more than 50 years where his focus has been changing school cultures, behaviour management, establishing peak performance and replacing fear with kindness. He is currently working with Victorian Education on bullying and school culture and with UNESCO on bullying and school violence. He is an adviser to Resilient Youth Australia, Geelong Grammar School’s Positive Institute and was instrumental in the establishment of positive education through Australia and the world.

Since 2018, John has been working with St Peter’s College to lead a discussion about the place of forgiveness in schools. As an Anglican School with a focus on wellbeing, forgiveness must be one of the key concepts that we embrace. Accordingly, John has challenged us to ensure that forgiveness is an explicit part of all of our policies and practices at Saints.

A focus on forgiveness has implications for the way we deal with any issues that arise in the multitude of relationships that exist within the School. At this session, John will talk about the high-quality relationships that underpin peak performance and the role of kindness and forgiveness as the only way to change behaviour.

There is no need to RSVP, simply arrive on the night.
