This year the annual SAFTA (South Australian French Teachers’ Association) Pétanque Tournament was held at the Unley Sporting Club on Thursday 13 March.
It was a wonderful evening, with many South Australian teachers, parents and learners of French coming together to celebrate French culture through the sport of pétanque. This year, we had two Junior teams entered in the competition. Our players included French Captain Sam Wells (Year 6), Harrison Maung (Year 6), Oliver Su (Year 4), Leo Carichini, Ned Downer and Huey Williams (Year 5).
The teams played competitively, with one team making it through to the Semi-final before being knocked out. It was also great to see our Senior School team competing and encouraging the Junior team. Many thanks also to our teams’ parents for attending and helping with scoring. All boys are to be congratulated on their participation, sportsmanship and dedication to celebrating French culture!
