What a term it has been for our Prep and Reception boys! From the garden to the classroom, the mud to the marble run, Term 2 has been filled with wonder, curiosity and rich learning experiences.
Visiting the Secret Garden was a highlight for our Prep boys as they explored the natural world and developed a deep appreciation for the environment around them, including Athelney House:

Our love of the environment extended to our Reception boys participating in much-loved Wet Weather Play, where puddles and mud became the setting for joyful, adventurous learning.

The Prep boys have explored the concept of Self through portraits and stories, using clay, loose parts and paint to tell their own personal stories. The Reception boys shared their own personal stories and learned well-known stories with a focus on the classic tale The Enormous Turnip. Papier-mâché turnips, watching real turnip seeds sprout and grow and retelling the story through puppet play were all engaging experiences.
It has been a delight to watch the boys’ love of storytelling develop as well as their love of listening to stories and reading, in our RAVE session with Chaplain Anna and in our weekly Library session with Mrs Dansie. Adventures with the Book Chooks are a favourite too.

Our boys also visited the ELC to spend time with our youngest learners and were so excited to welcome Year 9 boys from the Senior School, who came to read to them. These experiences are a beautiful reminder of the bonds that exist across our School community.
We are incredibly proud of our Prep and Reception boys and thank our families for their support throughout Term 2.
