During the first weekend of the term break, the National Robocup Junior Competition was held at the Wayville Showgrounds in Adelaide.  332 students in 128 teams represented their state/territory spent two and a half days competing in one of four disciplines: Rescue-Line, Soccer, On Stage and Maze. Saints entered 12 Teams (28 boys from Years 5 to 9) into the Rescue-Line section with 2 Teams in Riley Rescue, 5 Teams in Primary Rescue, and 5 Teams in Secondary Rescue.

At the end of the 7 preliminary rounds, Vincent Xu and Sujay Babu (Team ‘Future Stars’) were in first place and in the triple final round, finished in 3rd place overall.

In Primary Rescue, at the end of the preliminary rounds, our teams finished in 11th, 12th, 14th, 15th and 18th place. Congratulations to Benjamin Wang and Hugh Zhang (Team ‘Daddy Wants Milk’) who were our best primary team.

In Secondary Rescue, at the end of the preliminary rounds, our teams finished in 5th, 7th, 10th, 22nd and 35th place. Congratulations to Edward Gross and Aidan Du (Team Robot Rage) who were our best secondary team. Special mention should also go to our next two teams: Sunny Zhang and Vipul Pabbathi (Team Coozy Rescue) and Lochie Siow, Ishaan Chaudhuri and Nemindu Athukorala (Team Bala Bot) for placing highly.

Congratulations to all the boys who competed. Our results were excellent and reflect the high standard of our teams.
