On Saturday 16 May, two of our Year 10 students participated in the Rostrum Voice of Youth competition at Immanuel College.
Both Ethan Tran and Navinder Takhar demonstrated outstanding public speaking skills and knowledge on their topics. Using the prompt “people power”, both boys crafted exceptional speeches that covered themes of toxic masculinity, collaboration and the power of working together and women’s rights.
In the impromptu section of the competition, Navinder spoke about the importance of the development of AI and how it holds many possibilities, whereas Ethan spoke about the importance of stepping outside one’s comfort zone to grow. It was a pleasure to listen to both students’ speeches and they were exemplary representatives of our School.
Unfortunately, we did not progress through the heats in this instance as the competition was very fierce, but both Ethan and Navinder should be proud of their accomplishments.
