Rostrum Voice of Youth is a national speaking competition which provides an excellent opportunity for secondary school students to gain experience and confidence in expressing their views and communicating a message. The 2022 South Australian Heats were held on Saturday 14 May.

Our School representatives included Year 9 students Ishaan Chaudhuri, Jack Pillay, Alexander Piscioneri and Alexis Prakash competing in the Junior division, as well as Gunin Singhal (Year 11) and Steven Zhang (Year 12) in the Seniors. Contestants presented both a prepared speech and an impromptu short-notice speech. Our students spoke on a broad range of topics including ‘Blue Skies’, ‘This Time it Will be Different’, ‘Wait and See’ and ‘An Error of Judgement’.

Congratulations to all contestants on their participation, effort, and success in the competition. A further congratulations to Year 9 student Jack Pillay, who was successful in his Heat. We wish him all the best in the Semi-Finals on Saturday 28 May.
