Rostrum Voice of Youth is a national public speaking competition which offers an opportunity for secondary school students to gain experience and confidence in expressing their views and communicating a message. The 2024 heats were held on Saturday 11 May.
Our School representatives included Samuel Balogh (Year 7), Jack Lai (Year 7), Navinder Takhar (Year 8), Ethan Tran (Year 8), Advaith Abilash (Year 9) and Andrew Ung (Year 9) competing in the Junior division, as well as Alexis Prakash (Year 11) in the Senior division.
Contestants presented both a prepared speech and an impromptu short-notice speech. Our students presented on a broad range of topics including “Age is no Barrier”, “Positive Vibes”, “End of an Era”, and “What’s Next?” Congratulations to all contestants on their participation and effort in the competition. A particular congratulations to Navinder and Ethan who were successful in their heats. We wish them all the best in the upcoming semi-finals, taking place on Saturday 25 May.
