For the first event of the SAAS Cross Country season, we, the host school, welcomed 227 runners representing 18 different schools. I believe this to be an all-time record.
We welcomed the following boys to their first SAAS Cross Country competition representing St Peter’s College Senior School –
Kaspar Jongeneel, Liam Hindmarch-Merideth, Bailey Burrows, Will Cooksey, Benjamin Tharanisorn, Sidhansh Arramraj and Rohan Malik.
Our 2 km loop had received some well overdue rain earlier the morning of competition which made for a more welcoming forgiving turf. Above, we were welcomed with clear blue sky.
Top 10 Finishers included –
Seniors (Years 10 to 12)
Evan Cox (1st), Hugo Browne (2nd), Shreyus Arramraj (4th), Archie Braithwaite (7th), Angus Ashmead (8th)
Middle (Years 7 to 9)
Tom Wallett (2nd), Will Cooksey (8th), Benjamin Tharanisorn (9th)
A SAAS Shield Championship is awarded in each of the six race divisions to the schools with the highest accumulation of points for Term 2.
Following Round 1:
Seniors – We sit in 1st place with CBC 2nd followed by Woodcroft 3rd
Middle – We are placed 2nd behind CBC, PAC in 3rd place.
Our weekly training and competition schedule is –
Monday Training 3.45pm – 5.00pm
Wednesday Afterschool Interschool Competition
Friday Training 7.00am -8.00am.
