31 August 2018
In the coming weeks, Senior School students will commence trials for the 2018 Athletics Carnival, to be held on Friday 21 September. As an added incentive this year and to encourage participation in track and field events, trial points have been doubled! This means that participation in the trials are now more important than ever for all School Houses!
Trials will be conducted during lunchtimes and after school for the next three weeks. The St Peter’s College Athletics Club will also hold Saturday training sessions which are open to all students in the lead up to the Carnival.
Parents, families, friends and the wider School community are also encouraged to come down to Caterer and Wilson Ovals on Friday 21 September to support the boys and enjoy the atmosphere of the 2018 Athletics Carnival.
Based on the combined results of both the Athletics Carnival and trials, a team will be selected to compete in the St Peter’s College Achilles Cup team. The Achilles Cup is undoubtedly the premier track and field competition for boys’ schools in South Australia. Saints has a long track record of exceptional results at this competition and we look forward to once again fielding a strong team in 2018.
Good luck to all boys for both the trials and competition; have fun, enjoy yourselves and give it your best!
