Come and join us at Junior School’s Gardening Club each Wednesday and Friday morning at 8.00am. Parents are welcome as well as boys from Reception to Year 6. No need to sign up, just come when you can!
Our garden plots are flourishing thanks to the hard work of Joseph, one of our gardeners, who managed to fix the watering system before the summer holidays.
The crops that the boys planted at the end of last year have had regular water and we have been able to harvest the first crops of zucchini, fresh herbs, chillies, capsicums, pumpkin, silverbeet, bok choy, spinach and tomatoes.
Thank you to our families who came to weed during the holidays. This helped to keep our plots ready for planting as soon as we have returned.
We plan to sell our produce at our pop-up produce stall each term and all proceeds will help Anglicare Elizabeth Mission to provide a hot meal each day for families in need. Please also look out for our regular produce table in the Junior School foyer. Vegetables will be freshly picked and available to buy for a gold coin donation.
Please come and join us at the Gardening Club; it’s great fun, you’ll get to know other boys and families, and find out about planting, propagating and harvesting.
