Friday 18 March saw a number of Junior School boys represent St Peter’s College at the North Adelaide District SAPSASA Swimming Carnival.

Congratulations to the following boys that were selected in the SPSC team:

  • Year 6: Charlie Johnson, James Teo, Jack Cornish, Jimmy Huang, Alex Darcey and Matthew Harris
  • Year 5 Jack Lai, Ziggy McKenna, Willis Pratt, Thomas Wallett and Hugo Yates

Unfortunately due to COVID-19 a number of boys had to withdraw at the last minute and were unable to compete. For those boys that missed out, we were able to submit their trial times in order for them to be considered for selection to represent North Adelaide at the State Championships.

The following boys placed in their events:

  • 10 year-olds: Hugo Yates First Backstroke and Second Freestyle
  • 11 year-olds: Alex Darcey First Backstroke, First Butterfly and First Freestyle, Thomas Walett Second Backstroke and Third Breaststroke and Jack Lai First Breastroke Second Freestyle
  • 12-year-olds: Charles Johnson First Backstroke, First Breaststroke and First Freestyle, Jack Cornish Second Backstroke, James Teo First Butterfly and Second Freestyle and Jimmy Huang Third Butterfly

At the completion of the event our boys finished second overall, which is an outstanding achievement considering we could not have a competitor in each event.

We are now awaiting the announcement of the North Adelaide representative team.
