Sausages, sauerkraut, berliners and pretzels

German pop music and video clips added to the Gemütlichkeit of the Year 9 German lunch held in Week 9 of Term 3.

A typical German meal of Bratwurst, Wiener Würstchen, Sauerkraut, Bratkartoffeln (potatoes fried with bacon and onion), Pretzels and Berliners were on the menu for lunch. Although some might say that sauerkraut is an acquired taste, the boys all were able to appreciate the delicacy as it is intended to be eaten – complementing German sausages.

The students enjoyed the food and general ambiance and were able to add this to their ever-broadening understanding of German culture.
