The 2024 Golden North Challenge offered schools an opportunity to register teams in Junior, Intermediate and Senior age categories for both boys and girls. For 2024, it was decided to enter a Senior Boys Team (Under 19 on December 31).
Rules required all teams to be composed of a minimum of seven and a maximum of nine athletes. Athletes were then allowed to compete in a maximum of three and a minimum of one individual event/s plus a relay.
