03 April 2025
Although summer sport is only just winding down, preparations for the Swimming Carnival are just getting started, with the Main Event scheduled for Friday 30 May (Term 2, Week 5).
To prepare for the day, House Swim Trials will begin in Week 11 of Term 1, with Years 7 and 8 students leading the way on Tuesday 8 April.
In Term 2, House-based trials for students in Years 9 to 12 will take place during lunchtimes in Weeks 1 to 3. A dedicated session will also be offered for boys who are less confident in the water but still wish to contribute valuable points for their House. This session will be held on Wednesday 21 May, with flotation devices available for support.
New this year: ‘Championship Heats’ have been introduced, providing an opportunity for the strongest swimmers to qualify for the Championship Event on Carnival Day. Participants for these races will be selected based on the fastest times recorded during the trials.
To ensure no student misses the opportunity to participate in a final or earn House points, families are encouraged to check the schedule for their son(s) trial day and ensure swimming gear is packed on the appropriate day. Reminders will also be shared with students and Heads of House.
*Please refer to the attached schedule for trial dates relevant to each students year level and House.
Best of luck to all participants – and happy swimming!
