Dan Jackson, a former professional athlete with the Richmond Football Club, is an inspiring advocate for mental health, wellbeing and resilience.
During his eleven-year AFL career, Dan earned the Jack Dyer Medal as Richmond’s Best and Fairest in 2013 and was renowned for his leadership and dedication both on and off the field. Dan was the inaugural winner of the Jim Stynes Community Service award for his commitment for helping the community, particularly through his work with Headspace and the Big Brother Big Sister program.
Since retiring from the AFL Dan has worked in both Canada and the United Kingdom and is currently the General Manager of Player Development and Leadership at the Adelaide Crows. His focus has been on leadership and culture development to enhance team dynamics and individual performance.
Dan is passionate about creating environments where conversations are focused on exploring boys’ views on masculinity and respectful relationships.
During Term 4, Dan has had sessions with all of our Year 6 boys focused on exploring the boys’ views on masculinity, the positive and negative sides and its impact on wellbeing, performance and culture.
