For the sixth consecutive year St Peter’s College, in collaboration with Wilderness School, will host the Sony Foundation Children’s Holiday Camp Program from Sunday 29 September – Tuesday 1 October. This unique respite program sees our Year 11 students take responsibility for the care of children with disability, allowing their families to have a valuable weekend off.

Our student carers are supported by volunteer medical staff and teachers. There is a requirement to have three nursing/medical staff on duty from 8.00am – 8.00pm each day to support our 15 young guests. A SPSC nurse will be present each day to coordinate the medical needs of our guests, however we are seeking parent volunteers to help meet the required ratio.

Thank you to those parents who have already confirmed their support to help meet the required ratio. We are still seeking volunteers from our extended community of nurses, doctors, and paramedics to assist with the following shifts:

•    Sunday 29 September from 12.00pm to 4.00pm
•    Monday 30 September from 8.00am to 12.00pm (x2)
•    Monday 30 September from 12.00pm to 4.00pm
•    Monday 30 September from 4.00pm to 8.00pm
•    Tuesday 1 October from 8.00am to 11.00am
•    Tuesday 1 October from 11:00am to 2.00pm (x2)

If you are available to volunteer during these specified times, or have any questions about the requirements, please do not hesitate to contact me via email lfirth@stpeters.sa.edu.au.

Thank you for considering this request. Your expertise will not only provide essential support to our young guests but will also allow our students the opportunity to give back to the wider community.

I look forward to hearing from you.
